What is an annotated bibliography and do you have an example?

Answer

An annotated bibliography is a list of citations accompanied by a short summary and analysis of each of the sources. Some library tools that can help you format and create an annotated bibliography are RefWorks (or other citation manager e,g, Zotero). The APA product Academic Writer has a short lesson on Types of Student Papers that includes a section on annotated bibliographies and provides a short sample paper; even if you are using another style guide (e.g. Chicago or MLA) you may find this information useful. Also check out this guide from the Antioch University Writing Center: Writing the Annotated Bibliography.
